Tracing the Threads of History and Fantasy

Silken Luxury

Silken Luxury

Lately I have been picking up quite a few Trompe Loeil builds on their weekend sales, since I realised that I needed more interiors that look great with PBR. I have also been working on improving my understanding of reflection probes, EEP for PBR and light sources for PBR.  Not quite fully there yet, but I am really happy with how the materials came out in these shots. That is with a reflection probe and a custom EEP. I could have added some more lights for shadows, but one step at a time.

The gorgeous bed is by DICTATORSHOP and it features various silks (18 main fabrics, 12 presets and tons of possible combinations) with a clear Asian inspiration, either patterned or tone on tone. It also uses bamboo that comes coloured six different ways and as you can see there is a matching nightstand. The bed uses a brand new engine that includes custom animations, and automatic Physics Cock and V Bento support. You can choose between PG, Adult Vanilla and Adult Kink. I didn’t have my partner on hand so I could just give a taste of the solo menus this time, but there are definitely some fully packed couple menus too.

The beautiful candelabras are a brand new release from Libertine that you can pick up for just L$50 during Wanderlust Weekend. They come in either bronze or silver and in four different versions. And they will be updated/improved later on.

Since I opted for a bit of a rough surrounding (Trompe Loeil’s Theda Rustic Castle), I went for an outfit that was a cross between fantasy and lingerie. This collaboration between Petrichor and Ersch was released for the Fantasy Faire and I love that not only does the skirt come in two lengths but you have four options for the sleeves, from really opulent to a bit more modest. I liked the contrast as well with the more modern hairstyle from Wasabi.

The Raven Woman

The Raven Woman

A small settlement near the edge of the woods, and a pale-haired woman in black and red, rumored to understand the speech of birds. Certainly, there is a crow that is often seen with her.

I am in love with the Sunniva gown from Rakshasa. It has such beautiful detailing and so many texture options. You can also choose between long or short sleeves. Here, I went with short to better show off the leather gloves from HopScotch. These are actually for men only, but I think they look pretty good on a woman too, especially if I imagine them as sturdier gloves for handling a raven or perhaps a weapon?

The gown and the gloves are from We Love Role-Play and the same goes for the fence and the buildings, a whole kit from XIV which includes several different buildings. Sturdy and rustic, they make up the perfect foundation for creating a village.

Fantasy Faire 2026: Requiem

Fantasy Faire 2026: Requiem

With only two more days left of the Faire, the time has come to wander Alia Baroque’s Requiem. Here, among mausoleums, graveyards and solemn statuary, we are reminded of death and reminded to live. The sim is undeniably gothic and as such I could not resist wandering through it like an unquiet ghost who, lost and bewildered, finds a tombstone with her own name on it.

The sinfully red gown (which can be clicked to raise the hem in a very naughty fashion) is by SoapBerry. I have not tried them before but I could not resist this gown, which also includes a bloody version of each colour. The torch, just like the lantern I showed in an earlier post, is from Titans, another brand that I have not purchased from earlier. I am also wearing a necklace from On a Lark which can function as a scripted collar or just be worn as a regular necklace.

I tried to really make an effort this year to browse new stores at the Faire and even if it can be overwhelming I can definitely recommend it. I went through a few sims at a time, to keep myself from rushing. So make the most of the last few days and don’t forget to pay special attention to the RFL vendors to keep raising money for the fight against cancer.

Fantasy Faire 2026: Exploring the Aetherium

Fantasy Faire 2026: Exploring the Aetherium

Ebonfall Aetherium (sponsored by Quills & Curiosities) is a grand creation, a place of magic and learning hidden within a mountain. Staircases that seem made for giants wind up through dark halls and at the core there is a mystical garden full of swirling energy. This is the place I chose to explore next, adopting the guise of a student of the Aetherium. For such purposes, I carried with me a book of spells by Vortech and a candlestick from Titans to light my way through the darker passages.

For my garb I chose an elaborate gown of brocaded silk, with a pearl-adorned bodice. Made by Petrichor in collaboration with Belle Epoque, this gown offers so many beautiful colours and combinations and it is made for a range of bodies. The deep neckline offered the perfect framing for a lovely necklace from Ashbourne & Burleigh Couturier.

The dramatic long hair, which frames the face so beautifully and has a soft curl at the ends, is not from the Faire but its beautiful for fantasy looks. It is a Truth Collective release from Truth and Wasabi.
