Tracing the Threads of History and Fantasy

Lady of the Autumn Keep

Lady of the Autumn Keep

She stands by the window as the day wanes, the forests below her turning to flame beneath the fading sun. Beyond the mountains, the chill of winter gathers, but for now, her hall is warm with light and memory.

The the new Gable Hood from Grasshopper Street, debuting at the November round of We Love Role-Play, is an n exquisite piece that brings historical depth to fantasy styling, with embroidered detailing and metallic trims that frame the face gracefully. It’s also a rare find: a headpiece that complements both historical gowns and creative fantasy attire with equal ease.

The Madelyn Gown by Rakshasa features elegant brocade textures, a shaped bodice, and flowing skirts that capture a sense of quiet nobility. The combination of deep green and gold feels regal, particularly under warm indoor lighting like this, and it looks beautiful together with the hood.

For the setting, I used Moon Coven’s Medieval Small Palace, also available at We Love Role-Play for this round. Its tall windows and richly textured interiors make it an ideal backdrop for portraits, evoking the mood of a secluded noble residence.

On Odin’s Bed

On Odin’s Bed

A cold on top of my broken finger did not improve my creativity, but now that I am on the mend from one thing at least I dove back into We Love Role-Play to show my favourite decor item for this round, the Hvild bed from Libertine. This Norse-inspired bed (its even called “Odin’s bed”)  features carved wood (three design options are included for the head board) and furs for a very rustic look. It is called a beta release and will come with further texture options in the future through free updates. It is available in an adult and a mature version, with a good selection of single and couple animations. You can grab it at 30% off at the event.

For these photos, I wanted some very particular poses, so I did not use the built-in options. The body chains are from Starlight Design and in the first image they enhance the impression of submission. And yet, you can see a hint of the dagger from Kore that is held behind her back, which is then fully on display in the second image.  Chained, but not tamed and definitely still dangerous.

The torches are from a great set of light sources by Tirrany Designs and they provided lovely illumination for the scene. Finally, though not from WLRP, we have the Bora Nera hair from Wasabi. A very sleek style with attitude, with its hint of devil horns in the bangs.

Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie

Today, you’re invited to follow along as I try out making a pumpkin pie with Herb & Fable. If you are unfamiliar with Herb & Fable, I try to give a little introduction, though I am pretty new to it as well and may have gotten some details wrong! It is a mini game within Second Life, which includes things like quests to gather certain items or instructions for how to grow plants or bake and make things. The pumpkin pie recipe and ingredients pack is a new release for the October round of We Love Role-Play, which also includes the Norse-inspired gown from Sweet Kajira that I am wearing and the pumpkin patch (from Jinx, who are the creators of Herb & Fable) you see during the video.

As always, photos and credits (with links to the event) follow below.

The Watchtower

The Watchtower

Every year, she visits the isolated watchtower and looks out over the ocean. And every year, she leaves in silence and goes back to her life.

We Love Role-Play for October is in full swing and this round mixes in plenty of Halloween-inspired releases. But for this post, I stayed within the classic fantasy realm, using the imposing tower from Nocturna Deed to set the stage. Inside, I decorated with pirate-inspired items from Laminak (there are more pieces to the set than is shown here) and for my outfit I selected the beautiful gown from the Muses and the stunning silver choker from Sigma. The choker is fitted mesh and it really makes for a much better jewellery fit for necklaces, even if that of course limits which bodies you can use it on.

The hair is the Cider style from Wasabi, a high braid that can be worn over either shoulder and with or without bangs for maximum versatility.
