Ruling in Comfort

Ruling in Comfort

There’s another season of that dragon show just around the corner, and while I am not particularly enthused about watching it given that they’ve gone so off-book that GRRM said it isn’t his story any longer, I don’t mind playing with the imagery a bit. Libertine’s Iron Bed for WLRP looks far more comfortable than its cousin the Iron Throne and I could totally imagine ruling the realm while lounging in bed in a negligee (a Fantasy Faire release from SoapBerry) and wearing a crown (another WLRP item, this one from Solis).

Also out for We Love Role-Play is the fantastic Illusion Window from the Dreaming Thicket, which comes with a host of nifty settings for making it look as if light is coming in through a stained glass window.  Combined with my further efforts to setup correct lighting for PBR (with a reflection probe enclosing the whole room and an ambient light source), I am very happy with the final result.

Fantasy Faire 2026: Requiem

Fantasy Faire 2026: Requiem

With only two more days left of the Faire, the time has come to wander Alia Baroque’s Requiem. Here, among mausoleums, graveyards and solemn statuary, we are reminded of death and reminded to live. The sim is undeniably gothic and as such I could not resist wandering through it like an unquiet ghost who, lost and bewildered, finds a tombstone with her own name on it.

The sinfully red gown (which can be clicked to raise the hem in a very naughty fashion) is by SoapBerry. I have not tried them before but I could not resist this gown, which also includes a bloody version of each colour. The torch, just like the lantern I showed in an earlier post, is from Titans, another brand that I have not purchased from earlier. I am also wearing a necklace from On a Lark which can function as a scripted collar or just be worn as a regular necklace.

I tried to really make an effort this year to browse new stores at the Faire and even if it can be overwhelming I can definitely recommend it. I went through a few sims at a time, to keep myself from rushing. So make the most of the last few days and don’t forget to pay special attention to the RFL vendors to keep raising money for the fight against cancer.
