Moonshine

Moonshine

Lore’s release for the current round of We Love Role-Play will let you setup a shack in the middle of nowhere to make your very own moonshine. The shack has a realistic, run-down look and the distillery comes in a few variants, from worn to shiny new. There are also various other props such as crates and bottles. The simple, single-room house with the open shed on the side could also be used for other purposes, such as an old farm with a small stable.

My inventory is not exactly full of suitable clothing for this kind of scene, but I do think that Rakshasha’s Philip outfit—which also is out at WLRP—works pretty well, especially if you opt for hiding the sleeves and the frill on the shirt and making it a simple linen material. But there are many other ways of wearing it too, thanks to the options on the HUD.

Fantasy Faire 2025: The Maiden and the Wyvern

Fantasy Faire 2025: The Maiden and the Wyvern

Word went around the village that a great red beast had made its lair in a nearby cavern and disappearances of livestock and even people were blamed on it. A decision was made to try and appease the creature in the old-fashioned way, with the sacrifice of a maiden. But the maiden that they selected had an idea of her own, and thought it would be best to simply go and talk to the new visitor to the area.

I have featured Prehistoricas fantastic dragons and wyverns before, then in the avatar versions. For this years Fantasy Faire, Prehistorica has released animesh decor versions of the Dragon and the Wyvern, allowing you to include them in your photography without needing to get an alt (or your husband) to dress up as a dragon. The decor versions also come packed full of animations and sounds, making them lifelike and very impressive additions to your sim. They have a lower poly count than the full avatars, but the detail still looks amazing. The included HUD also offers the full range of skins, so each creature can have its own look.

But that is not all, as RFL releases you will also find decor versions of the Bone Dragon and the Bone Wyvern, frightening skeletal versions of these creatures. These do not, for obvious reasons,  have different skins available. Both the regular and the bone versions include five different sizes, from small(ish) to gigantic.

The maiden’s beautiful dress is from Rakshasa, a simple kirtle with a belt that will suit a variety of role-play scenarios, and the lovely floral crown from Les Encantades. Finally, we have glowing blue grass and rocks from 3rd Eye Perceptions to finalise the look of the Altamira Cavern from Fanatik.

A Traveller’s Welcome

A Traveller’s Welcome

For the weary traveller passing through the countryside, an inn is a welcome sight. And within, there might be more on offer than just food and drink…

We Love Role-Plays April round is open and full of great new releases. NOT, however, the updated version of the Tavern Aris from Del-ka Aedilis Rome Series, that is a mainstore release. But I thought it was a nice build for featuring three of the new items from WLRP. First, the Octavia Dress from Rakshasa, which is a very versatile Roman-inspired outfit that can be worn either short or long and with several different options for the top. There’s also a matching leather breastplate, which I left out of this version. Here, I went for a saucy serving wench in the short version, the colours a bit earthy. I matched that with the Eva arm & thigh bracelets from Antaya and gave those a coppery metal look rather than something more expensive. Finally, I used decor from PROPS!, a brand that I have not come across before. They have a nice set called Crossroad Inn at WLRP, which among other things include tables, benches, candles and pitchers. There’s also a hearth and some wall panelling, which I did not make use of here.

The hair I am wearing is a Truth Collective release from Truth and Wasabi, a sassy shoulder-length style with four different styling options.

The tavern itself features an open main area accessible from three sides. On the right side there is an anex that contains three individual rooms that can be used for a variety of purposes.

A House of Healing

A House of Healing

One of the buildings in the new Rome Series from Del-ka Aedilis is the Hospital Celsus, a combined residence and hospital for a medicus or healer.  The build features a beautiful garden, for relaxation as well as for growing medicinal plants, flanked by barracks with rooms for patients. At the end is a two-story building serving as a residence for the medicus. The build features PBR textures and the light from the fires illuminates it beautifully.

For a suitable outfit, I decided to make use of the newest release from Rakshasa for We Love Role-Play. The Fineas Camisk is…well, part of a Greek or Roman outfit, with a draped cloth that covers half the body and leaves the rest bare. In contrast to the rich fabric, it is tied with a rope that is matched by the ropes around the wrists. There are also matching laced sandals and those as well as the outfit are available for both male and female avatars. We’ll just say that the medicus of this hospital may believe in a bit of sexual healing as well. ;)

My hair is a brand new release from Raven Bell for the Engine Room. With the floral ornaments removed, I thought it could pass for a Romanesque style. Either way, it is a very pretty updo.
