Tracing the Threads of History and Fantasy

Ruling in Comfort

Ruling in Comfort

There’s another season of that dragon show just around the corner, and while I am not particularly enthused about watching it given that they’ve gone so off-book that GRRM said it isn’t his story any longer, I don’t mind playing with the imagery a bit. Libertine’s Iron Bed for WLRP looks far more comfortable than its cousin the Iron Throne and I could totally imagine ruling the realm while lounging in bed in a negligee (a Fantasy Faire release from SoapBerry) and wearing a crown (another WLRP item, this one from Solis).

Also out for We Love Role-Play is the fantastic Illusion Window from the Dreaming Thicket, which comes with a host of nifty settings for making it look as if light is coming in through a stained glass window.  Combined with my further efforts to setup correct lighting for PBR (with a reflection probe enclosing the whole room and an ambient light source), I am very happy with the final result.

Silken Luxury

Silken Luxury

Lately I have been picking up quite a few Trompe Loeil builds on their weekend sales, since I realised that I needed more interiors that look great with PBR. I have also been working on improving my understanding of reflection probes, EEP for PBR and light sources for PBR.  Not quite fully there yet, but I am really happy with how the materials came out in these shots. That is with a reflection probe and a custom EEP. I could have added some more lights for shadows, but one step at a time.

The gorgeous bed is by DICTATORSHOP and it features various silks (18 main fabrics, 12 presets and tons of possible combinations) with a clear Asian inspiration, either patterned or tone on tone. It also uses bamboo that comes coloured six different ways and as you can see there is a matching nightstand. The bed uses a brand new engine that includes custom animations, and automatic Physics Cock and V Bento support. You can choose between PG, Adult Vanilla and Adult Kink. I didn’t have my partner on hand so I could just give a taste of the solo menus this time, but there are definitely some fully packed couple menus too.

The beautiful candelabras are a brand new release from Libertine that you can pick up for just L$50 during Wanderlust Weekend. They come in either bronze or silver and in four different versions. And they will be updated/improved later on.

Since I opted for a bit of a rough surrounding (Trompe Loeil’s Theda Rustic Castle), I went for an outfit that was a cross between fantasy and lingerie. This collaboration between Petrichor and Ersch was released for the Fantasy Faire and I love that not only does the skirt come in two lengths but you have four options for the sleeves, from really opulent to a bit more modest. I liked the contrast as well with the more modern hairstyle from Wasabi.

The Letter

The Letter

Golden light spills through the windows, catching on silk, ink, and velvet. This scene lingers in that quiet space between anticipation and memory — a letter half-read, a robe loosely tied, the last warmth of sunset resting against bare skin.

The Zahir robe from Antaya features rich saffron-gold fabric drapes fluidly over the body, trimmed with intricate detailing that frames the chest and cuffs. The cut is generous and relaxed, allowing it to move naturally whether standing at the window or reclining against cushions. The belt cinches just enough to define the silhouette without losing that effortless, luxurious feel.

Reviver’s bold Sacred Bloom tattoo transforms the look entirely. Sweeping florals bloom upward across the chest and throat in deep reds and greens, intricate and deliberate.  Against the warm tones of the robe, the artwork becomes vivid and almost luminous in the fading light.

In hand, the letter from Opifex adds quiet tension. A folded page tied with ribbon suggests unfinished business — news received, or perhaps news yet to be sent.

And then there is the Medusa couch from Libertine. Upholstered in richly textured fabric, it curves generously, inviting repose. The deep blue pattern contrasts beautifully with the golden robe, while its plush form supports both seated contemplation and languid sprawl. Libertine’s detailing is subtle but deliberate, from the sculpted shape to the intricate pattern of the brocade.

Come to the Jingle Bell Bazaar

Come to the Jingle Bell Bazaar

The Jingle Bell Bazaar, hosted by Enchanted Realms and the City of Venna, has opened its doors and invites you to visit a winter wonderland full of festive shopping. There are over 70 creators participating and plenty of holiday-themed releases and specials.

One of these is the Mafalda outfit from Nala Designs, which features an opulent gown as well as matching jewellery and heels. A mix of rich reds and greens, it is definitely a gown for the upcoming holidays, with nods to Victorian designs even if the bare arms would not have fit in there. And matching the Christmassy colours are my eye appliers from Out of Orbit. The Yule pack includes greens with a just a hint of red and also several frosty versions.

The beautiful hairstyle is Magika’s Marzipan, with the group gift accessories to make it truly festive, and all the decor in the room are various Christmas releases from Libertine, which really capture that old-fashioned Christmas feel perfectly.
