Tracing the Threads of History and Fantasy

Homesteader

Homesteader

Sometimes, a simple and quiet life beckons you.  The Homesteader gown by Grasshopper Street is for those times. Designed as a practical workdress, it comes in both plain and patterned calicos (eight of each), with a contrasting yoke and skirt ruffle and a belt that keeps it neatly cinched at the waist.

The included apron is just as thoughtfully done—a pocketed bib apron that attaches with simple metal pins, available in matching calicos with four mix-and-match sections. The bib can be removed for a half-apron look, making it easy to adapt depending on the task at hand.

Paired with a bonnet and a basket of freshly gathered herbs, it’s easy to imagine the rhythm of daily life drawing water, tending a garden, or preparing remedies at day’s end.  The basket of herbs, and the farmhouse build as a whole, are older but very authentic-feeling releases from Del-ka Aedilis.

The outfit includes both PBR and legacy materials and is fitted for a wide range of bodies. It is available exclusively at The Engine Room (March 20 – April 20) at a 25% discount.

Hunting Party

Hunting Party

I started with the dashing Hunt Boots from Grasshopper Street, which are available at We Love Role-Play for both male and female avatars. However, at first I did not have a good idea for what to pair them with and how to show them off. Then I spotted RiG!‘s Nomad Tent, also at WLRP, and thought it would work well for a hunter’s camp out in the woods. But, what else to wear with the boots?

Searching through my inventory for tunics, I found the Boyfriend Tunic from Constraint and now a story came to mind. Obviously, our hunter has a partner and has appropriated his clothing one early morning or late evening, as she sits by the fire. Perhaps her own clothing was soaked by rain and is hanging out to dry? Either way, she’s made herself comfortable in his somewhat oversized tunic.

Orderly Elegance

Orderly Elegance

Midnight Order consistently delivers top-notch content. In the current round, we have the Leoti Street Suit from Grasshopper Street, available at a 25% discount. The tailored wool jacket layered over a smart vest and high-necked blouse creates a sharply defined silhouette, balanced by the flared skirt and cinched wasp-waist belt. The HUD includes a generous range of colour options, and the fit covers a wide selection of bodies, making it both flexible and refined. Available as a gift at the event, the small cameo at the throat adds a restrained, period-inspired detail. Completing the styling is the new Emma hair by Raven Bell, also available at Midnight Order. The shape is softly structured and elegant, working beautifully with the high neckline and overall classic feel of the outfit.

To create a suitable setting, I used the Upright Piano from the Heritage series by DICTATORSHOP. The wood finish and detailing feel timeless, and it sits naturally in both formal parlours and more lived-in interiors. Beyond its visual presence, the piano offers multiple versions—PG, Adult Vanilla, and Adult Kink—each packed with animations that range from simple solo playing and shared duets to more intimate interactions.

Also from the heritage range is the compact but versatile bookcase that does a lot with very little land impact. With nine different rezzable decor options and ten wood finishes, it avoids the repetition that often comes with built-in props. The discreet placement of the texture-change button allows the shelf to sit close to other furniture while remaining fully accessible, making it easy to integrate into layered interiors or larger modular builds.
