Fantasy Faire 2025: Elf Nouveau

Fantasy Faire 2025: Elf Nouveau

Far away from secluded woodlands, yet somehow familiar given the ornamental and graceful buildings. The gardens were beautiful as well, and the art that graced some of the walls, but the fountains held a particular allure.

Galerie Gaillard is probably the most intricate and ambitious build at this year’s Fantasy Faire. It is sponsored by ContraptioN and you could spend so much time wandering around there, looking at all the displays within the gallerie and discovering new things to see. My photos hardly do it justice, it is too large too feature at the same time as you try to feature the details of an outfit, but perhaps I will have time to revisit it.

The beautiful gown by Poet’s Heart has the option of plain or embroidered textures and the latter suited the look of sim very well. I accessorized with filigree earrings and a necklace by Petrichor, as well as the halo that gives adds even more of an Art Nouveau touch, and with the set of delicate rings by Tealeaf Treasures, a store that is new to me but looks very interesting. On the Elfin ears by Illusions are ornate ear caps that blend nicely in with the style of the rest of the jewellery. The hair by Raven Bell is the beautiful Louise updo, which offers a lot of options for customising the style, and I used the Secret Garden poses by Mysteria..

Fantasy Faire 2025: Ghost in the Grotto

Fantasy Faire 2025: Ghost in the Grotto

Delving deep into Yuum Baalal Grotto is not for the faint of heart. There is old magic here, the air is thick with it, and you never know when something long gone might rise again.

A Ghostmare seemed like the steed of choice here, with mysterious markings across her shining coat (by new-to-me brand Auro) and her beautiful tack (from the Flying Pony) something out of a fairy tale. And for our intrepid explorer, fine armour with a mirror sheen to it (courtesy of Mesh Entity) and a magical elven sword (by Sarer-S-Creations). Even so, one must tread carefully.

The Ghostmare series of coats are all quite lovely, with PBR as well as fallback textures. There are also special RFL editions available. The Russell tack has a great fantasy look to it and that is always great to have on hand when a more modern set would look out of place. It, too, has lovely PBR textures. The same goes for the armour, which really has a superb sheen in the right light. And the sword is a very pretty fantasy sword which includes a HUD with some cool magic effects.

Fantasy Faire 2025: The Maiden and the Wyvern

Fantasy Faire 2025: The Maiden and the Wyvern

Word went around the village that a great red beast had made its lair in a nearby cavern and disappearances of livestock and even people were blamed on it. A decision was made to try and appease the creature in the old-fashioned way, with the sacrifice of a maiden. But the maiden that they selected had an idea of her own, and thought it would be best to simply go and talk to the new visitor to the area.

I have featured Prehistoricas fantastic dragons and wyverns before, then in the avatar versions. For this years Fantasy Faire, Prehistorica has released animesh decor versions of the Dragon and the Wyvern, allowing you to include them in your photography without needing to get an alt (or your husband) to dress up as a dragon. The decor versions also come packed full of animations and sounds, making them lifelike and very impressive additions to your sim. They have a lower poly count than the full avatars, but the detail still looks amazing. The included HUD also offers the full range of skins, so each creature can have its own look.

But that is not all, as RFL releases you will also find decor versions of the Bone Dragon and the Bone Wyvern, frightening skeletal versions of these creatures. These do not, for obvious reasons,  have different skins available. Both the regular and the bone versions include five different sizes, from small(ish) to gigantic.

The maiden’s beautiful dress is from Rakshasa, a simple kirtle with a belt that will suit a variety of role-play scenarios, and the lovely floral crown from Les Encantades. Finally, we have glowing blue grass and rocks from 3rd Eye Perceptions to finalise the look of the Altamira Cavern from Fanatik.

Fantasy Faire 2025: The King’s Sword

Fantasy Faire 2025: The King’s Sword

A young maiden in disguise takes on a perilous quest, to deliver a king’s sword to its rightful owner. Her travels take her far from court and through many wondrous and sometimes dangerous realms, deep within the mystical Fairelands.

This absolutely gorgeous and well researched Renaissance-inspired outfit is a new release from Grasshopper Street for the Faire. The Prospero set is primarily intended for male avatars, covering a range of bodies, but there is also a Maitreya Flat version that works well for all Maitreya bodies as long as you wear the included alpha. It also works quite well on Legacy’s female bodies with a bit of additional alpha usage.  The HUD offers three different textiles, each with eight colour variations, and each section of the outfit can be coloured separately. Also available at the Faire are the velvet garters, these are sold separately for male and female bodies.

Uzme poses provides some of the best action-oriented pose sets around and for the Fantasy Faire they have out a set of single poses and two couple poses, all featuring swords. I had to tweak my arm a little for the first photo, as it sank into the clothing, but otherwise they fit me very well.
