Garden Magics

Garden Magics

There’s a new round of We Love Role-Play just around the corner, after the customary break in January, so I wanted to give you a sneak peek of some of the flowery delights awaiting you on the 4th of February. It is still winter outside my window (and the wind is viciously cold), so I opted for some magical greenery and lively colours in Second Life. The glowing Star Flowers are by Cerridwen’s Cauldron and can be customised in great detail. They also come in several variants in terms of size and number of flowers. The Dark Calathea is by Blue Blood and are great for creating a mystical underbrush of large, leafy plants.

The outfit also has a floral inspiration, with leaf-like shapes and a flower at the belt. I envision it as the outfit for a witch focusing on growing magic and tending to these fantastical plants.  It is a collaboration between Petrichor and Ersch which means tons of options for the colours of the different elements.

The Cherie hair from Wasabi is a recent FLT edition, and I particularly liked how it framed my face, showing off the Victoria skin from Nar Mattaru and the brand new Aquarius makeup from alaskametro.

Eclectic Tastes

Eclectic Tastes

A bit peculiar. That was how they described the new master of the manor. He always dressed very elegantly—if in rather old-fashioned ways—and those who had called on him had found assorted curiosities decorating the drawing room into which they were invited. An odd-looking mirror with the frame adorned by what looked like crystals and mushrooms. A bookcase with strange volumes that no one had ever heard of. But he certainly seemed pleasant enough.

The bookcase by DICTATORSHOP is part of the Heritage collection and offers a choice of 10 woods and 5 metals for the texture as well as two different sets of rezzed items on the shelves. You can also leave them empty and rezz your own decor. The mirror by Blue Blood (for which I tweaked the reflection probe as I had trouble getting a reflection out of the box) and the suit by Pendulum are both available at We Love Role-Play, as always with a discount for the duration of the event.

I also picked up one of the latest hairstyles from No.Match, a braid in several lengths with a matching hairbase which comes fitted for both male and female avatars.

Fairy Falls

Fairy Falls

An island floats through the sky, a waterfall cascading down one side and pooling onto a cloud. That fanciful image is conjured up by Blue Blood’s Waterfall Retreat, still available at a discount for a few more days at We Love Role-Play. To give a taste of this unique piece of landscaping, I imagined myself as a water fairy, wrapped in a stream of bubbles (courtesy of Puke Rainbows and wearing a minimal bikini and some sparkling beads from Aurora. A touch of colour under the eyes is provided by Rubedo’s Emelie makeup.

A release from earlier during the summer, but not from WLRP, is the Truth Collective hairstyle Darcy, two short and messy pigtails that has an impish charm.
